Pain in the legs, joints, ankles and back comes with age, but it affects younger people as well.
One of the most common causes of these types of pain is the sedentary and inactive lifestyle.
A survey shows that 1 in 3 adults suffers from joint pain.
This pain can be a symptom of gout, bursitis, osteoarthritis, strain or sprain, some injuries or rheumatoid arthritis.
50% of back pains will probably pass in 2 weeks, and 90% in 3 months.
But chronic back pain is the worst, it makes the everyday activities hard, some ordinary things like sitting, walking, lying or standing can be difficult to perform.
Pain in the leg can be caused by some injury, overuse of the bones and joints, or tearing of the muscles, ligaments or other soft tissue. Also, poor circulation can be one of the causes.
This natural, homemade smoothie will help you relieve the pain. For preparation, you will need:
- 1 orange
- 1 lemon
- 2 pears
- 2 cups of pineapple
- 2 celery stalks
- ½ tsp. of coconut oil
- 1 inch raw turmeric and ginger root
- A dash of black pepper
Instructions:
Peel the orange, the lemon, the ginger and the turmeric root. Chop the pears and the pineapples. Add all the ingredients in a blender and blend at maximum speed.
Consume it fresh or store in the fridge for 3-5 days.
If you use a juicing machine, it will remove all of the important fibers in the waste, while the blender keeps them in the smoothie.
High levels of fiber will produce lower C-reaction protein in blood, which causes inflammation related to heart disease, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis.
Benefits of pineapples: This fruit contains bromelain which is very beneficial as a joint pain relief, as well as for reducing inflammation which is causing arthritis.
Benefits of oranges: Leg pain can be caused by overuse of muscles and potassium or calcium deficiency. In order to prevent inflammations, our body needs enough vitamin C.
Benefits of pears: Pears are packed with vitamin C, which reduces inflammatory and rheumatoid arthritis.
Benefits of lemons: Lemons are rich in vitamins C and E, the antioxidants which protect the cells from free radicals that are damaging them. They can also maintain the collagen and connective tissue.
Benefits of celery: Vitamin K deficiency can cause abnormal cartilage and bone demineralization, and celery is very rich in this vitamin. Lack of vitamin K can also increase the symptoms of hand and knee osteoarthritis.
Benefits of ginger: Ginger root can fight prostaglandins, the lipid compounds which cause pain.
Benefits of turmeric root: According to a study from 2009, turmeric can relieve pain and improve knee function, plus it is proven to be better than ibuprofen in treating osteoarthritis. A study from 2006 has shown that curcuminoid from turmeric can inhibit joint inflammation and cure the pain.
The smoothie will take a few days of regular consumption to start working, but the results will be worth it.
